Former senator evades arrest in housing case

LAHORE: Former Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan evaded arrest by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in a housing scam. The bail of Mr Khan, a principal accused in Rs6 billion Pak-Arab Housing scam, was cancelled by an accountability court here on Wednesday but he managed to evade the arrest. The NAB is conducting raids to arrest him.The re-verification process for 2,400 affected individuals of Pak-Arab Housing has been completed. The NAB is finalizing its investigations and preparing to file a reference in court. The NAB administration has sought court permission to sell seized properties. The bail of another owner of the housing society in question Ammar Gulzar was also arrested and the NAB is trying to arrest him.
