SUKKUR: A man was killed and his brother wounded when a group of armed men, believed to be members of the Khosa tribe, barged into a house and opened fire on them in Ali Mohammad Khosa village within the limits of the Risaldar police station of Kandhkot. Residents of the village and police said that the victims belonged to the Golo community and that the family had been facing wrath of a Khosa family over a matter of ‘honour’. They believed that the fresh attack in which Achar Golo died on the spot and his brother, Sabir, was wounded might be linked to the same dispute. Four persons have been killed and two others wounded in the hostility since they took up arms about a month ago, according to them. A few days back, some influential figures of different tribes and communities had tried to mediate between the Khosos and Golos but could not settle the matter, the villagers said. Meanwhile, the body of Achar was handed over to the heirs while Sabir was rushed to the Kandhkot Civil Hospital, where doctors referred him to a major hospital due to his critical condition.
