QUETTA: Police have arrested a teenager in connection with the murder of a young boy whose partially burned body was found in Hazara Town on September 20. Mushtaq Hussain, alias Mehdi, was arrested by police for killing Arman Ali, SSP Serious Crimes Unit Zohaib Mohsin told a press conference on Sunday. During investigation, he said, the suspect confessed to have planned the crime after watching scenes from a crime series on social media. He lured the boy, whom he did not know, with juice and then attacked him, claiming he acted based on what he had seen in those series. SSP Mohsin said Brewery police station have registered a case on behalf of the victim’s father Muhammad Naeem. A special investigation team conducted geo-fencing of the crime scene and obtaining footage from nearby CCTV cameras with the assistance of FC Balochistan. Based on the footage, suspicious individuals were brought in for questioning. The SSP said that on Sept 29, the suspect, Mushtaq, was included in the investigation. During questioning, he confessed to the crime, explaining that he took a knife and a hammer, hid them in a school bag, and went to the crime scene, where he found a boy flying a kite.
