BAJAUR: The killing of the nine-year-old boy by unknown culprits in the mountainous Kamangra area on Sunday sparked a protest by the villagers here on Monday and drew condemnation from the people from all walks of life. The protest demonstration held in Kamangra area of Nawagai tehsil was also attended by the victim’s family members. The demonstrators chanted slogans “give justice to the bereaved family” and “immediate tracing and arrest of the assailants” and termed the killing of the boy, Maaz Khan, a barbaric act. The demonstrators demanded of the police to arrest the culprits at the earliest as there was unrest among the villagers. Later, the protesters were also joined by ANP MPA Nasir Khan, who alongwith several party workers visited the area to show sympathy with the victim’s family. Meanwhile, the district police is said to have registered the first information report (FIR) over the incident at Nawagai police station. A statement issued by the DPO office stated that a special investigation team had been formed to trace the culprits as soon as possible.
