TOBA TEK SINGH: Two gunmen were killed in as many alleged encounters with the Gojra and Faisalabad police on Wednesday. According to a Toba Tek Singh police spokesperson, Husnain Tariq from Hudiara, Lahore, was shot dead by his accomplice, when the police chased the three robbers who had picketed the road near Chak 354-JB in Gojra. On being alerted, police pursued the suspects to Ambanwali Puli, where robbers opened fire, which was returned. The police claimed he was wanted by police in multiple districts. In Faisalabad, a Dolphin police squad conducting snap checks near Metro Chowk in the Gulberg police area signalled four suspects on motorcycles to stop. The suspects opened fire on the officials, leading to a shootout. When the firing ceased, two suspects were found injured, while the other two managed to flee. One of the injured, identified as Shamroze from Jhang Road, later succumbed to his injuries. Shamroze was a notorious criminal wanted in connection with nine robberies. The other injured suspect was shifted to the Allied Hospital. The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Interpol National Central Bureau arrested a fraud suspect in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday. An FIA official stated that Muhammad Zubair, who had been wanted by Faisalabad police for three years in a monetary fraud case registered by Madina Town police, was located in Saudi Arabia. FIA and Interpol officials brought him back to Pakistan, where he was handed over to Faisalabad police. Five people of a family were hospitalised after passing out after drinking a milkshake at their home in Bukhtiari Garden, Khanewal, on Wednesday. Rescue 1122 shifted the affected family members -- Sumera Bibi (35), daughter Aansa Bibi (15), sons Ahmad (13) and Khizer (10) and her brother-in-law Mubeen (19) -- to DHQ Hospital.
