RAHIM YAR KHAN: Some suspects allegedly kidnapped two cattle traders at Fazalwah Headworks area near Rahimabad in Bhong police limits on Wednesday and later released one of them. Reports said Naeem and Farooq were on their way back from Katcha area after buying animals by a small pick-up. Near Fazalwah Headworks, they were intercepted by some suspects who forcibly offloaded them from the vehicle and took them towards the Katcha area, it added. It said that after a short distance, the robbers tied up Farooq’s hands and feet with rope and left him behind, but they took Naeem with them. A police spokesperson said the kidnapping occurred early in the morning as Naeem was on his way to a cattle market with his animals. DPO Rizwan Umar Gondal took immediate notice of the incident and dispatched police teams to the scene for further investigation. The spokesperson added that efforts are underway to recover Naeem. Meanwhile, residents of Sadiqabad and nearby rural areas are in a state of panic following the death of realtor Tahir Mehmood in Shikarpur and the disappearance of two men on last Thursday. A local trader expressed concern, saying that Rahimabad is the hometown of PML-N district president MNA Sardat Azhar Khan Leghari. He urged Leghari to take action to eliminate the criminals in the Katcha area, fearing that the increasing crime has left the business community of Sadiqabad feeling unsafe, especially when travelling in neighbouring parts of Sindh.
