RAWALPINDI: Punjab Secretary Transport Dr Ahmed Javed Qazi has asked the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to complete the rehabilitation work of metro corridor from Saddar to Faizabad as soon as possible. During his visit to the metro bus track, he was told that the elevated road of the Metro Bus Service was being concreted instead of fixing tough tiles. He said more than 100,000 citizens were benefiting from the metro bus on daily basis, therefore they could not be deprived of this facility for several days. RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza said the metro project was a model of travel facilities for the general public, in which no obstacle would not be tolerated. It was informed that the rehabilitation of metro corridor from Saddar to Faizabad, which woud cost Rs718.945 million, was in progress and work would be completed by December. He said the RDA divided the whole corridor into 20 sites and initially, six sites had been completed. Two sides of Shamsabad and Rehmanabad bus stations and one side each of Waris Khan and Liaquat Bagh had been completed so far. The secretary transport and RDA director general has instructed the chief engineer RDA, Mohammad Anwar Baran, to immediately complete the restoration work.
