Sardar Abdur Rab Nishtar, Governor of the West Punjab, warned the people here today [Nov 27] against the elements who were spreading disaffection by alleging that with the establishment of Pakistan the lot of the poor had not improved. The West Punjab Governor, who was addressing a largely attended public meeting here this afternoon, said that Pakistan had been achieved to save the poor from exploitation and if the lot of the poor was not improved the basis of Pakistan would be denied. “I assure you that Pakistan Government have the good of the poor always at their heart and their every step and action is aimed to achieved that end,” he said. ... Warning the people against the sinister propaganda he revealed the great problems which the Pakistan Government had to tackle since its inception and asked the people to have faith in their Government and wait because countries did not become great in a short time.
