LAHORE: The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) conducted its monthly guided tour of the historic old havelis in Walled City, showcasing the architectural and cultural legacy of the region. The tour included visits to prominent historical landmarks such as Mubarak Haveli, Haveli Wajid Ali Shah, Papar Mandi Bazaar, Noori Building, Haveli Nau Nehal Singh, Naqsh School of Arts, Fakir Khana Museum, Haveli Awais Mir and Haveli Barood Khana. Participants also enjoyed a Rangeela Rickshaw Ride and cultural performances, with refreshments provided as part of the experience. Up to 150 tourists attended the event, which shows a growing interest in Lahore’s rich cultural heritage. The WCLA has now scheduled this tour as a regular monthly feature. Asghar Hussain, deputy director of WCLA tourism, said, “The old havelis are a vital part of the city’s architectural heritage. They offer a glimpse into the traditional lifestyles and social structures of the past. These historic homes, shaped by common people rather than rulers, are a testament to the unique architectural identity of the old city. WCLA remains dedicated to preserving and promoting this heritage for public appreciation.”
