Punjab governor visits Lok Virsa

RAWALPINDI: Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan visited Lok Virsa on Sunday where he visited the pavilions of Sindh and Punjab. Director Rawalpindi Arts Council Sajjad Hussain welcomed the governor. A traditional Sindhi Ajrak and cap were presented to the governor at the Sindh Pavilion. He also visited other stalls where works of artisans and artists from Sindh and Punjab were displayed.He appreciated the hard work and dedication of the artisans. A traditional Punjabi turban was given to the governor at the Punjab Pavilion. Talking to media, Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan said the cultures of Sindh and Punjab were equally impressive. He said festivals were a tradition of all provinces as they provided entertainment to the rich and poor alike. Mr Khan said holding traditional fairs was necessary for the people, and after seeing such a large number of them, it was very likely that the old festivals would be revived. He said fairs promoted love, brotherhood and tolerance which were indispensable for our society. He said such a large number of people came to the folk festival that he also got stuck in the traffic, adding that he was happy that such an environment was created in the federal capital.
