OKARA: A man with his four accomplices allegedly strangled his wife to death and later stage her death a suicide by hanging her from a ceiling fan. According to the first information report, Aqsa, mother of a 5-month-old baby, was married to Iftikhar, of village 17/4L. The couple had been experiencing marital issues, which escalated after Aqsa’s brother Imran divorced his wife, who was Iftikhar’s niece. It is alleged that Iftikhar with Hamza, Amna Bibi and two unidentified accomplices drugged Aqsa before strangling her. They then hanged her body to make it appear like a suicide. Aqsa’s mother Naziran Bibi registered a murder case at Cantt police station against Iftikhar, Hamza, Amna, and the two unidentified individuals under Sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
