Security alert issued for Waziristan, Dera colleges

PESHAWAR: The Higher Education Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, following the directives of the home department, has issued a high security alert to the educational institutions in Dera Ismail Khan and Waziristan districts. A notification issued here on Saturday directed the educational institutions in these districts to ensure extra security measures in the wake of possible security threats. It said that the authorities of the institutions concerned should extend complete cooperation to the district administrations and law enforcers in ensuring extra security. The notification added that the educational institutions could also demand extra security cover for them. In Dera Ismail Khan, the threat alert was issued to Government Degree College No 2, and government degree colleges in Paharpur and Purwa areas. In Waziristan district, the security alert was issued to the government degree colleges for male and female in Darandaza, Wana and Jandola areas.
