PESHAWAR: The Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (Etea) successfully administered a computer-based test for a number of positions in the Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP), marking a major advancement in modernising and guaranteeing transparency in the hiring process for public sector organisations in the province. According to a statement released here on Monday, this is a significant step forward for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s efforts to implement state-of-the-art technologies for merit-based hiring. The tests were fully computerised for the positions of admin manager, Assistant HR manager, assistant accounts manager and others. Every applicant was given a different, randomly generated question paper, guaranteeing impartiality and removing any potential for prejudice. By eliminating the need for manual intervention and enhancing the integrity of the examination process, this method allowed candidates to view their results immediately after finishing the test. The test was administered in a relaxed and well-organised environment, and several candidates expressed their satisfaction with the efficient procedure. Their trust in the system was further increased by instantaneous result notifications. The computer-based exam demonstrated Etea’s commitment to merit-based hiring, according to Executive Director Adil Saeed Safi. “We intend to gradually roll out this system throughout all of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s districts, allowing candidates to show up at the nearest centre,” he stated. He also shared that In order to expand this programme; his organisation was forming partnerships with both public and private universities and institutions. The statement further said that all Etea test procedures would be digitised upon completion, guaranteeing a uniform and effective hiring process.
