SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Inspector General Frontier Corps, KP (South), Major General Meher Umar Khan inaugurated construction work on 600 new shops near Jandola Bazaar during his visit here on Sunday. He was welcomed on his arrival by Sector Commander South, Brig Sohail Bajwa, and Deputy Commissioner Tanveer Khan Khattak, Commanding Officer Lt Col Shehryar, and Bittani tribal elders and notables. The tribal elders briefed the IGFC South KP on important issues faced by local people and paid glowing tributes to security forces’ sacrifices in establishing peace in the region. They requested installation of an ATM machine in the area and a new IT centre for the local youth. The IGFC South assured that Jandola market and shops would be constructed and handed over to Bittani tribal elders and that FC South would continue to play its role in development of the area. He praised the Bittani tribes for keeping a close watch on miscreants and not allowing them to spread violence. The Bittani tribal elders expressed their appreciation for security forces’ efforts in maintaining peace in the region. They emphasised that peace was of utmost importance to the development and prosperity of the region. The tribal elders acknowledged that development and prosperity were incomplete without peace, and vowed to continue their efforts for the betterment of the region together with the assistance of security forces.
