RAISING ENTREPRENEURS: Equipping children with basic business as well as financial skills from an early age can be transformative. By teaching concepts such as bartering, saving, spending, and the fundamentals of supply and demand, we can help nurture a generation that is not only financially literate but also innovative and resourceful. Moreover, the inclusion of business education at the primary level would foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and an entrepreneurial mindset. Through age-appropriate activities, children can gain practical knowledge about how money, trade, and markets function. Adhering to this approach will help our youth think creatively. : The standard of healthcare services in Balochistan is far from satisfactory. The doctor-to-patient ratio is about 1:2,000, while the nurse-to-patient ratio is 3:20,000. District headquarter hospitals (DHQs) in Naseerabad, Sibi, Khuzdar, Kech and Loralai lack essential medicines and facilities, while the rural health centre (RHC) in Jhal Magsi is located in an area that has no drinking water available. The government must provide proper health-care facilities to the people of Balochistan. FAILED PLANNING: The recent spell of rain in Quetta has highlighted the failure of both the provincial gover-nment and the Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC) in mitigating woes unleashed in the wake of rains. Unfortunately, the city’s clogged sewerage system caused water to overflow onto the roads, creating severe inconvenience for the people. After the rainfall exposed the dilapidated sewerage system, the government claimed to have completed the ‘planning’ to transform the city’s infrastructure. However, it failed to deliver tangible results. The government, by utilising all its resources, should adopt a comprehensive strategy to redesign the city’s worn-out sewerage system.
