BAHAWALPUR: Vehari police claimed to have recovered a newborn boy five hours after his abduction and arrested three suspects, including two women, from village Malik Wahan. According to the police spokesperson, Hajira, the wife of Abdul Hafeez, and Bakhtawar came to the house of Hajira Mai, the wife of Ghulam Mustafa. They gave her some intoxicant, making her lose consciousness and kidnapped her five-day-old son, Mujtba. On regaining consciousness, Hajira informed her husband who rushed to the Karampur Police Station and reported the case. Police launched a search and recovered the baby from one Abdul Aziz from the nearby maize fields. On his identification, they arrested both women suspects. An FIR was registered against the suspects on the complaint of Mustafa. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) unearthed a gang involved in human trafficking and online illegal foreign currency exchange and arrested its two members, Tasleem Ahmed and Noor Ahmed. According to the agency, the suspects impersonated bank representatives and also managed to get access to people’s bank accounts, depriving them of millions of rupees.
