KARACHI: Two Dawn.com staffers were among eight journalists honoured for their work by the ‘Excellence in Health Reporting’ awards, held recently by the Aga Khan University. Areesha Rehan was placed first in the Digital category for her story ‘Between malnutrition and the right to business, where does Sindh’s breastfeeding law stand’. She shared the award with Kehkashan Bukhari of Geo.tv. Wara Irfan won second place in the Digital category for ‘Malnourished mothers, starving babies: how hidden hunger is endangering Pakistan’s future generations’, sharing the award with BBC Urdu’s Riaz Sohail. The awards were part of the annual Research Week event, hosted by the Department of Paediatrics & Child Health and featured a vast array of events, including talks and workshops.
