Four districts get new traffic police heads

KARACHI: Less than a week before the launch of a comprehensive drive against traffic violators, Inspector General of Police Ghulam Nabi Memon on Wednesday replaced heads of traffic police of four districts of the organisational structure of the Karachi police. The IGP posted new officers in South, Malir, Korangi, Central and City districts. According to an order issued by the IGP office, Shoukat Ali Khatian, (BS-19) has been posted as the SSP of Malir traffic police; Dr Syed Qamar Abbas Rizvi (BS-19) posted as SSP of Central; Suhai Aziz (BS-18) posted as SSP of South traffic police. She will also look after the charge of SSP of City traffic police. SSP Syed Muhammad Ali Raza of the Rapid Response Force has also been assigned the additional responsibility of SSP Korangi traffic police. The IGP also posted SSP Muhammed Azam Jamali as the principal of the Saeedabad Traffic Training Institute; SSP Saadat Ali Yasin as assistant inspector general (AIG) of forensic division; SSP Ali Anwar Soomro vice principal of the Shahid Hayat Police Training Institute Saeedabad; SP Farah Ambreen as vice principal of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Elite Police Training Centre Razzakabad; and SSP Abid Hussain Qaimkhani as AIG-Telecommunication.
