Punjab to revise lease of Taxila land taken by Tevta

LAHORE: The federal and Punjab industries departments have agreed to resolve the issue of 96 acres of the federal land taken by the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) on a 99-year lease in Taxila. In a meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain and Punjab Industries and Commerce Minister Chaudhry Shafay Hussain at PSIC House on Monday, the Punjab government agreed to the proposal to revise lease of the land. The committee will determine a suitable revised lease for the land within a week. Mr Shafay apprised the meeting that the Govt College of Technology was also established on the leased land in Taxila. The industries departments agreed to move forward for promotion of industry and technical education along with resolution of problems. Mr Tanveer said coordination between the provincial and federal governments was essential for promotion of technical education and industry.
