LAKKI MARWAT: The Bannu district administration has planned various events to mark the Women’s Week from September 23 to 27 under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister’s public service agenda. A district official said on Friday that the week would feature several activities for womenfolk including a painting exhibition on Sept 25 and a sports gala from September 23 to 24. “In addition to these events, a free medical camp and food festival will also be held on Sept 24 and Sept26 respectively,” he added. A khuli kutcheri and a session on digital marketing will also be the part of the week to be held on Sept 25 and Sept 26 respectively. The official said that the district administration would make special arrangements to hold a virtual session on digital marketing while other events would be held in the Government Postgraduate College for Women in Bannu city. Unidentified culprits gunned down a former soldier in Paharkhel Pacca area. Police identified the deceased as Mohammad Hussain and said that the incident occurred on a dirt track in the limits of Ghaznikhel police station. They said that the assailants fled the scene after committing murder and also took away motorcycle of the deceased retired soldier. Mohammad Javed, brother of the deceased, told police that three unknown armed motorcyclists sprayed his brother with bullets when he was going home on his motorcycle. Police said they registered a case against the killers under relevant sections of law and started investigation.
