MUZAFFARABAD: A 16-year-old boy was fatally stabbed by a peer overt a petty dispute on the outskirts
MUZAFFARABAD: A 16-year-old boy was fatally stabbed by a peer overt a petty dispute on the outskirts of Muzaffarabad late Friday night, police said, adding, six persons, including the prime suspect, were arrested in connection with the crime on Saturday. Garhi Dupatta police SHO Adeeb Afsar said they were alerted at 11:15pm on Friday about the incident, which took place in Nagra Palhotar village. The victim, Saad Naseer Awan, was reportedly stabbed by Aun Shah, also 16, following a heated altercation. “By the time we arrived at the scene, Saad had already been rushed to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Muzaffarabad. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries en route to hospital,” the SHO said. According to the police, the victim’s mother told them that some two days ago Aun Shah had beaten her son, following which she had visited his residence and lodged a complaint with his parents. However, despite her intervention, tensions continued to escalate, culminating in Friday’s tragic incident. Based on her application, police registered an FIR, booking Aun Shah and five others under sections 302, 147, 148, and 149 of the Azad Penal Code. The suspects initially went into hiding but were apprehended in a series of raids in the early hours of Saturday, SHO Afsar confirmed, adding, the weapons used in the crime – a knife – had also been seized. The arrested individuals are expected to be presented before an executive magistrate on Sunday, followed by a judicial magistrate on Monday, where the police will seek physical remand.
