LARKANA: Over 500 pilgrims left Larkana for Rohri by a special train on Tuesday for their onward journey to Nankana Saheb, where they will attend the 555th birthday celebration of Guru Nanak on November 13. Most of the pilgrims, both Sikhs and Hindus, hailed from different areas of Larkana and Qambar-Shahdadkot districts. The devotees, especially children, appeared excited while boarding the train. Stringent security for the pilgrims and the train was ensured at the railway station. Heads of some of the families, speaking to the media, expressed their joy over being able to travel to Nankana Saheb for yet another time, saying that they had been visiting Nankana Saheb – the birthplace of Guru Nanak -- every year to attend the celebration. Several thousand devotees from Sindh travel to Nankana Saheb to join thousands others coming from around the world to attend the three-day celebration every year. Local leaders of the Hindu Panchayat Haresh Lal, Kamlesh Kumar, Vishal Malani, Sunny Chawla and others bode farewell to the devotees at the Larkana station. At the Rohri railway station, more devotees from other parts of Sindh would join the special train’s passengers.
