KARACHI: The KC Jinko Solar National Juniors and Seniors Tennis Championship started here at Karachi Club on Friday. In the event organised by the Karachi Tennis Association, promising youngsters and seasoned players showcased their skills in the qualifying and first-round matches of different categories. In the men’s singles first-round matches, Namdar Zahid beat Ibrahim Gadit 8-5, Haziq Areejo secured a commanding 8-1 win against Hamble Naeem, Danish Hidayat downed Danish Shamsi 8-4 and Taimoor Ansari outclassed Danish Ramzan 8-2. The U-14 singles qualifying round saw Arman Ali emerge 6-2 victorious against Hasan Farhan. Fahad Muneer triumphed over Farjam Khan 6-2 and Mustafa Chottani blanked Mujtaba Kalwar 6-0. In the juniors U-18 singles qualifying round, Ehsaan Ali defeated Asif Majid 6-4 while Zain Nomi overcame Jibran Shah 6-3.
