PESHAWAR: The business community has urged the federal government and the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority to determine the transportation tariff of gas while keeping in mind the concerns of the private sector producers because any increase in the rates would prove detrimental for this important sector. Sharing his views during a public hearing called by Ogra here on Wednesday, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Fazal Moqeem Khan highlighted the difficulties being faced by the private sector gas producers, who ship their commodity through the SNGPL pipelines. He said that the private sector was barely surviving and any increase in the shipping tariff could prove to be the last nail in the coffin.
