KARACHI: A young shopkeeper was shot dead on the outskirts of the metropolis on Wednesday. The Bin Qasim police said that 20-year-old Sarfaraz Najamuddin Shar was sitting at his mobile phone shop near Ghaghar Phatak when unidentified armed pillion riders fired at him and fled. He died on the spot. The police claimed that he was killed over some ‘personal dispute’. However, the Edhi Foundation, whose volunteers had shifted the body to the JPMC, said in a statement that the youth was killed by robbers over resistance. Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incidents of street crime and directed the city police chief to intensify patrolling in the metropolis to save life and property of citizens. He directed the authorities to take all-out measures for the early arrest of the killers.
