Sheikh Umer Rehan has been elected as the new PVMA Chairman, while Asjad Arif and Khalid Islam Sheikh were unanimously elected as senior vice chairman and vice chairman respectively for the year 2024-2026. The PVMA secretary general announced the final results at 80th Annual General Body meeting of the aheld here at FPCCI Capital House. Talking to the members and the executive committee of PVMA, newly elected chairman Umer Rehan expressed the confidence that he would utilise his experience and knowledge to resolve the problems being faced by the ghee/cooking oil industry. Mr Rehan highlighted the challenges being faced by the industry and said that high cost of ghee and edible oil was damaging the industry as well as the consumers. “Ghee and edible oil were an essential kitchen item in Pakistan, and their high cost leads to the sale and supply of spurious and low quality products that could be harmful for human health whereas the rise of adulterated ghee and oil supply chain will have a serious financial impact on the regulated industry,” he added.
