TAXILA: Two children were molested in separate incidents in the jurisdiction of Pindigheb and Wah police stations, police sources said. In the first incident, a 10-year-old boy was sexually assaulted by a man in Mohallah Gulzarabad in the limits of Pindigheb police station. The victim’s mother reported to police that her husband was abroad and she was living with her son. She said her neighbour came to her house on the pretext of delivering groceries and took her son to the upper portion of the house and allegedly sexually assaulted him. Later the boy was taken to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Fatehjang where medical examination confirmed the assault. Police later registered a case against the nominated accused and launched further investigation. Separately, a boy was sexually assaulted by a man in the limits of Wah Cantonment police station. The victim’s father told police that the suspect took his son to his house where he allegedly assaulted him and when his son voiced alarm, he fled from the scene. A man was shot and injured for resisting robbery in Lalarukh area in the limits of Wah Cantonment police station on Monday, police sources said. Aziz Ahmed reported to the police that he was travelling to Lalarukh on his motorcycle when two masked men intercepted him and tried to snatch his motorcycle and mobile phone. When he put up resistance, the armed men shot him on his leg and fled with his motorcycle. Separately, two robbers snatched cash and mobile phones from a man in Jameelabad area in the limits of Taxila police station. Umair Ahmed reported to police that he was going home when two robbers intercepted him and snatched four mobile phones and cash from him and escaped. Meanwhile, Pinidgheb police busted a four-member gang of robbers who were trying to rob people by putting rocks in the middle of the road near Khoar Tarrian area. A police spokesman said that acting on a tip-off that a gang was present in the area, a police team raided a wooded area and arrested Faisal Ali, Mohammad Bilal, Usman Haroon and Saqlain Abbas. Police also recovered weapons from them.
