KARACHI: The Sindh sports department on Tuesday organised a donkey cart race in the metropolis. According to a press release, the first position was secured by the donkey “Sartaj”, second position went to “Bijli” and the third position was secured by “Kala”. Speaking on the occasion, Sports and Youth Affairs Secretary Abdul Aleem Lashari announced that the department had decided to register donkey cart race owners and after registration, they will be provided with financial and administrative support. He emphasised the importance of promoting donkey cart races while also ensuring the welfare of the animals. “On the instructions of Sports Minister Sardar Muhammad Baksh Khan Mahar, the department is organising various games at the district level. There is immense talent among Sindh’s youth when it comes to sports,” he said. The secretary also distributed cash prizes to the winners and certificates of appreciation to other participants of the donkey cart race.
