KARACHI: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has announced that it will hold a major rally on Sunday for the implementation of the Supreme Court’s order on the reserved seats. Speaking at a press conference at the Insaf House on Wednesday, PTI-Karachi president Raja Azhar said that the Supreme Court’s decision had made it clear that the reserved seats belonged to the PTI. He said that the Election Commission of Pakistan had failed to conduct transparent elections in the country. “PTI adheres to the law and demands the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the fraudulent elections,” he said, adding that the party would fight the battle legally. Mr Azhar was accompanied by Senior Vice President Faheem Khan, Information Secretary Fauzia Siddiqui, Legal Secretary Anwar Kamal, Additional Legal Secretary Advocate Mahjabeen Rajput, Deputy General Secretary Sarbuland Khan and Advocate Khalid Mahmood. Faheem Khan shared his disappointment with the recent legislative actions, comparing them to constitutional amendments during PTI’s tenure, which, he claimed, were in the country’s best interest. He referred to the arrest of the PTI MNAs and criticised the treatment meted out to them, saying that the lawmakers were denied their basic right to freedom of movement. “Shame on those who legislate under such conditions,” he said. He praised the apex court for its judgment, saying that the assembly was incomplete without representation from reserved seats.
