LAKE SUCCESS: Saudi Arabia asserted before the United Nations Social Committee here that action by the International Refugee Organisation in aiding the migration of 100 thousand Jewish refugees to “Israel”, eventually gave rise to the conflict in Palestine. Mr Jamil Baroody, (Saudi Arabia), repeating similar charges made on Friday [Nov 11] by the Lebanese delegate, declared yesterday [Nov 12] that “for every Jewish refugee that found a heaven in Palestine, five to 10 Arabs were displaced.” The Arab countries Mr Baroody said “do not believe that the Palestine question has been justly settled by the United Nations. The “Israel” delegate, Dr A. Katznelson, flatly denied that the IRO had created the Arab refugee problem. “The problem of the Arab refugees is a direct consequence of the war enforced upon us by the Arab States in flagrant violation of the will of the United Nations. The Arab attack was aimed not only to prevent implementation of the United Nations decision, but to accomplish physical extermination of the Jewish population,” he told the Committee. — News agencies
