ISLAMABAD: As part of its commitment to uplift underprivileged communities, the government has provided interest-free loans to over 25,000 families in October 2024 through the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF). The initiative, implemented in collaboration with partner organizations, has disbursed loans worth 1.2 billion rupees to ultra-poor households across the country. According to an official source, the program aims to enhance financial inclusion, create sustainable livelihoods, and empower economically marginalized segments of society. This effort is expected to improve the economic conditions of beneficiaries by enabling them to earn better incomes, support their families, and achieve self-reliance. The government remains steadfast in its mission to promote financial stability and reduce poverty nationwide. Interest Free Loan Programme is one of the major components of the National Poverty Graduation Initiative financed by the Government of Pakistan. The programme that feeds into PPAFs overall approach for poverty graduation approach provides interest free loans to the target population through the loan centers.
