Govt hospitals put on high alert

ISLAMABAD: As Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has announced to hold a sit-in in Islamabad, from today (Sunday), all public sector hospitals --Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) and Polyclinic and Capital Hospital-- have been put on high alert. According to an order, in pursuance of the directions received from the District Administration and in order to meet any emergency situation during protest of PTI, the hospitals will remain on high alert to cater emergency in case of any untoward situation. “The Emergency Department will remain on high alert onNov 24 and 25. All consultants, registrars, and casualty medical officers are advised to remain available on duty as per their duty rosters. The Security Officer will ensure the availability of nursing/para-medical and other support staff in the hospitals till rallies/protests are over,” it stated. “Pharmacist will ensure the availability of essential and lifesaving medicines as per need and requirement. Transport Officer will ensure the availability of drivers and ambulances will remain on a standby on the premises of the hospitals,” it stated.
