Man killed, another injured in firing

GUJRAT: A man was killed and his friend sustained injuries in the firing by some unidentified motorcyclists at Dawara Bridge at Bhakoki village in the limits of Jalalpur Jattan Saddar police on Sunday. As per police sources, some unidentified armed men opened fire on Abdul Hameed (60) in the village, leaving him dead on the spot, whereas his friend Riasat of Narang Mandi, who was currently residing in the same village, sustained a bullet in his leg. The attackers fled the scene immediately. On being informed of the incident, local police and a team of the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) reached the spot and collected evidence. Gujrat SP (investigation) Riaz Ahmed Naz, Saddar circle DSP and other police officials also reached the spot. The deceased and the injured man were shifted to the Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital (ABSTH), where the condition of Riasat is said to be stable. Police have yet to register the case. YOUTH DIES: A youth of Sialkot died, while his friend was injured after the motorbike they were riding collided with a speeding car near Jalalpur Jattan on Sunday. Rescue officials say that Imran Jameel (20) of Khalilpur village in Sialkot district was on his way to Gujrat on a motorbike with a friend when they met accident. As a result, Imran died on spot and his friend was injured. The car riders fled the scene. A Rescue 1122 team shifted the body and the injured man to the ABSTH.
