KARACHI: Three motorcycles were set on fire after a clash between two supposed rival groups outside Malir courts on Monday, police said. Malir SP Saeed Rind told that a clash had erupted between two groups some months ago in which one person was killed. On Monday, both the groups arrived at the Malir courts for hearing of the case when another clash broke out between them on the court premises , the SP added. He said when one side came out from the court; other side was ostensibly waiting for them near Salman Tower on main National Highway. They started fighting with each other and resorted to aerial firing as well. Then they set three motorcycles on fire. During the clash, traffic remained suspended on the highway as it triggered fear and chaos in the locality, SP Rind said. Contingents of the police rushed to the spot and arrested 10 suspects from both sides, he added. A young man was found murdered in Korangi on Monday. Zaman Town SHO Ateequr Rehman said that the deceased, 30-year-old Arsalan Shakoor, was stabbed and killed in Madina Colony near Sona Chandi Hall. The SHO said that during initial probe, it transpired that he was killed allegedly by a suspect named Amir, adding that Amir’s wife, Sabiha, had left him after developing differences over some issue but she did not get divorce from him. She was reportedly living with victim Arsalan for last one year without any Nikah, the officer added. He said they had got information from sources said that Arsalan was killed somewhere else and later on his body was thrown in their area in a rickshaw. The corpse was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.
