RAWALPINDI: Police recovered two bodies of newborn girls lying abandoned in a garbage dump along Nullah Leh in Ratta Amral on Sunday. Police said the babies were wrapped in white fabrics when a local resident found them and informed the police. The bodies seemed to be one day old, but it is unclear for how long these had been left in the area. The police said: “If anyone has seen any suspect in the area over the last 48 hours or knows who the parents could be, please call at police emergency 15.” The bodies of the newborns were shifted to hospital for postmortem which would determine the cause of their deaths. The police also questioned many people residing in the surrounding areas. Meanwhile, a young man was stabbed to death over a petty issue in Morgah on Saturday. Police said Zeeshan Ali and Tahir Mehmood had a quarrel over some issue during which the former stabbed Zeeshan with a knife. The injured was shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital where he died. The body was later shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for postmortem.
