An official of the Buttle police station told reporters that the woman, along with husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law was going to a court in Mansehra from Chaterplan area when armed men opened indiscriminate fire, leaving her and her father-in-law critically injured. “We shifted the injured to a nearby health facility, where the woman succumbed to her injuries,” the official said. He said that the injured man was referred to Ayub Medical Complex Hospital, Abbottabad, in critical condition. The body of the deceased was handed over to the family after the completion of medico-legal formalities. According to the police, the suspects -- who are reportedly the woman’s brothers and other family members -- fled the scene after the incident. The police registered an FIR against the attackers and started making raids to arrest them. Meanwhile, people took to the streets to protest the murder of a man during a nikah ceremony in the Khaki area here. The protesters assembled at the main artery and raised slogans demanding an immediate arrest of the killer, who managed to flee after the murder. They said that Zeeshan Waheed received bullets fired by Naveed Yusuf. The body was shifted to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital for completing medico-legal formalities.
