School principal, four teachers die in DG Khan road crash

DERA GHAZI KHAN: A private school’s principal and four female teachers died when the van they were traveling by collided head on with a truck on Dera-Quetta Road on Thursday. The tragic accident that occurred early morning near Tommi Morr Toll Plaza, was reported to Rescue 1122 through a call at 08:03am, say the emergency service officials, who dispatched their teams and ambulances to the scene. The rescuers say that four persons, including Amjad Hussain (45), the principal of a private school at Sakhi Sarwar, and teachers Ms Kiran (22), Ms Tahira (20), Ms Nosheen (24) had died on the spot before the ambulances arrived there. The rescuers shifted the seriously injured teachers, Ms Gull Zaireen (23), Ms Afsheen (21), Ms Munaza (30), Ms Zahra (21), Ms Aleeza (22) and Ms Shahreen (21), to hospital. One of the injured teachers, Gull Zareen, later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. They said some of the teachers suffered serious head injuries, adding that the principal was himself driving the van. On being informed, local police also reached the spot and started investigations. The tragic incident has left the local community deeply shaken.
