HYDERABAD: Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan-Noorani president Sahibzada Abul Khair Mohammad Zubair has said that though operation against protesters in Islamabad has added to hatred and bitterness on both sides but it is still not too late to hold talks to extricate the country from this crisis. He warned at a meeting of executive committee of his party’s provincial chapter here on Thursday that if this hatred increased it would threaten very integrity of Pakistan. He urged ruling and opposition parties to understand the gravity of the situation as the country was faced with a new wave of terrorism hence they should opt for negotiations. He said that lives were lost, properties were damaged and conditions were further becoming precarious but the government was describing it as its achievement although it had increased bitterness on both sides. The prevailing conditions were in fact evidence of government’s failure to handle the situation, he said. He said that security forces were being attacked and terrorist activities were taking place, therefore negotiations should be the best option to discuss and resolve issues. Mr Zubair said that Muslims were facing genocide in Palestine and occupied Kashmir but Muslim rulers were not ready to support their brethren. So far, 45,000 people had been massacred in Gaza and Palestine and they were crying for help but nobody was coming forward. OIC and Arab League had done nothing so far, he said.
