RAHIM YAR KHAN: Dacoits of Katcha area allegedly kidnapped three villagers when they were on their way to fields for irrigation here on Friday night in Bhong police precincts. Reports said Abdul Shakoor, Abid and Zahoor Ahmed, residents of Mauza Muhammad Murad Machi, were heading to irrigate their sugarcane fields near Pul Dahraanwala when armed dacoits intercepted and abducted them at gunpoint. The kidnappers took the hostages to the Katcha area. On Saturday, a video of the hostages in captivity was released by the dacoits, but no gang has yet claimed responsibility for the kidnapping or made any demands. A police spokesperson said District Police Officer (DPO) Rizwan Umar Gondal has taken notice of the incident. A heavy contingent of police has been dispatched to the area, and the DPO hoped that the hostages would be rescued soon.
