Six of a family injured in gas leak fire

RAWALPINDI: Six members of a family received burn injuries after being trapped in the gas leak fire in their house at Girja Road on Thursday. According to emergency services Rescue 1122, the emergency service staff rushed to the spot and controlled the fire and shifted all of the injured to hospital. Mohammad Bashir, 63, his wife Ms Musarat, 50, son Mohammad Umair, 12, and three daughters - three-year-old Insha, Haleema 40, Mishal, 15 sustained burn injuries after being trapped in the fire. The injured were shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital where they were stated to be in stable condition. The Rescue 1122, appealed to the people to take care while using gas appliances – especially in the winter season when such mishaps take place. It further said to check the gas heaters and stoves before going into bed and never switch onelectricity button, open windows and leave the house whenever you smell gas in the house, it further said.
