CHITRAL: Acting president of the local traders’ union Shiekh Fazle Wahid declared that the recent elections of the union were void and that new elections would be held in the best interest of the traders’ community. Accompanied by Amajd Hussain, Haroon, Saiful Ahmed Saifi, Tahir Zaman, and other members of the caretaker cabinet, he spoke at a press conference and said that the reason for dismissing president-elect Noor Ahmed Khan was his purported violation of the union’s constitution. He claimed that shortly after being elected, the president-elect and his cabinet members blatantly broke the constitution by failing to take the oath of office in accordance with established procedures and by abusing their authority, which shocked the trading community. In response to the community’s constant demands, he stated that he was going to the extreme of dissolving the recently elected cabinet in order to preserve unity and coherence within its ranks and files.
