LAHORE: The National Transmission and Dispatch Company (NTDC) on Thursday upgraded the 220Kv Lahore Wapda Town grid station by adding and energising another 250MVA auto-transformer, enhancing its power transmission capacity. According to a spokesman for the company, the NTDC’s project delivery (North) team has completed the augmentation work of the existing 160 MVA, 220/132Kv auto-transformer (T-2). The work was a part of the World Bank-funded National Transmission Modernisation Project-1 (NTMP-1). This capacity enhancement will not only boost the power transmission capacity of the grid station, but also help NTDC to ensure stable supply of electricity in various parts of Lahore metropolitan district and some adjoining areas. “The upgraded infrastructure will directly benefit domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers served by the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) through improved power supply stability and reduced transmission system constraints,” the spokesman said, adding that the NTDC high-ups have appreciated the team for early completion of this project. LDA NOTICES: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Thursday issued notices to various shopkeepers, owners of vehicle workshops/garages and other businesses for removal of encroachments on greenbelts within two days. According to a spokesman, action will be taken against those failing to comply with the notices.
