RAWALPINDI: Expressing concern over the delay in the registration of cases related to financial crimes, the City Police Officer (CPO) has directed the SPs of Rawal, Pothohar and Sadar divisions to chalk out a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to avoid delaying tactics in the registration of FIRs. According to sources, the CPO has sent a third reminder to all SPs expressing his concern over delay in the registration of cases, related to financial crimes. He said he had earlier directed all SHOs to chalk out SOP for the registration of cases and on the same day would send SOP for appraisal but despite his directives, not only that it was not being implemented, but the investigating officers have been using delaying tactics despite the complaint had been E-tagged. The CPO directed the SPs to hold meetings with the SHOs of their respective police stations and the SHO concerned without any delay will mark SOP and would be responsible for sending it to the officer concerned for scrutinising. And subsequently, the DSP legal branch will keep a follow up of the complaint. He further directed that if any delay was noticed in this regard, the supervisory officer will also be held responsible along with the IO. The CPO further directed the SPs to send him a daily report regarding the complaints of financial crimes, received by the police.
