ATC awards 31-year RI to TTP militant

SAHIWAL: Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Special Judge Ziaullah Khan awarded 31-year rigorous imprisonment to a terrorist belonging to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Waheedullah Pathan was captured in a sting operation from Block No 2 bridge Near Lower Bari Doab Canal by the CTD on Nov 22. He is a resident of Qalay Zaovavazai, tehsil Pandali of districtMomand, KP. Waheed was booked in FIR 15/23 under 7-ATA-1997, and sections 4 and 5 of the Explosive Act 1908 on the complaint of CTD, Sahiwal. Report said the CTD had recovered IED material, detonators, explosive powder, electric wires, dry batteries, mobile phones, multiple SIMs, an iron case and cash from him. WARRANTS: Anti-Corruption Court Special Judge Asif Bashir extended non-bailable arrest warrants of Ibrahim Manika, son of Khawar Manika and an excise inspector, directing Okara Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) to present them on the next hearing on Dec 10 in the Rs112 million corruption case. Meanwhile, Khawar Manika and his other son Musa Manika did not appear in the court as they were exempted from physical appearance during the last hearing. Among the other accused, Auqaf department manager Mr Shafqat, and Patwari Ashraf appeared in the court. Ibrahim Manika has fled to Spain after getting interim bail from the Lahore High Court while excise inspector Nawaz Watto also did not appear even in a single hearing of the case.
