LAHORE: The Punjab Information Department and the Ravi Urban Development Authority (Ruda) on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the transfer of land to allot plots to 3,200 journalists in Lahore as announced by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. On the occasion, Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari said for the first time in Punjab’s history, 3,200 journalists would be allotted plots based on merit. The process for Journalists Housing Scheme Phase-II would be completed in the next few days, she said and added the CM was fulfilling her promise of providing homes to the journalists of Lahore. “All plots will be allotted strictly on merit, and no recommendations will be accepted in this regard,” she said. As per the chief minister’s directive, she said the issue of F Block had also been resolved. Secretary Information Syed Tahir Raza Hamdani and Ruda CEO Imran Ameen signed the memorandum. Forms for Lahore Press Club council members will be available at the press club, while non-council members can obtain them from the DGPR, Lahore.
