NAROWAL: A businessman has alleged that he and his uncle were robbed of their cash by two masked men in police uniform, “posted at Sabz Pir police station,” while the police refused to register the first information report (FIR) of the incident. A businessman, Basharat Ali, a resident of Jandiala village, Zafarwal tehsil, said he was going to Pasrur on a motorcycle along with his uncle, Abid Hussain, on Tuesday morning. He said as they were passing through Pindi Minhasan village, two masked men in police uniform intercepted them and snatched their mobile phones and cash at gunpoint, after torturing him for offering resistance. However, he said, the robbers returned their mobile phones and computerised national identity cards (CNICs) and fled away with the cash. Basharat said later when he, along with his friends, went to the Sabz Pir police station to file an FIR of the robbery incident, two of the policemen disappeared on seeing them. He said that the officials at the police station did not entertained the complaint, refusing to register an FIR of the robbery. Alleging that the masked men in police uniform, who committed the road robbery, were actually police employees, Basharat demanded that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Inspector General of Police Usman Anwar should take immediate notice of the situation and order a probe to deliver justice.
