TAXILA: Four people, including a woman, were killed in four different incidents in Taxila and Wah on Wednesday, police sources said. In the first incident, a 40-year-old woman was shot dead by unknown persons in her house in the limits of Taxila police station. The family of the victim Allah Rakhi reported to police that the woman got up in the early hours of Wednesday to attend the wash room and as she went out of her room, unknown person shot her, killing her on the spot. In the second incident, a 33-year-old man was shot dead over a land dispute in Bun Bhola area in the same police station limits. Mohammad Ishfaq reported to Police that he along with his brother Mohammad Ilyas went to his land where Asad along with his companions showered him with bullets and as a result he died on the spot. Moreover, a man was shot dead in a robbery in Liaquatabad area in the limits of Wah Saddar police station. Police sources said that the victim Mushtaq went to the area to collect house rent and when he was returning home, unknown robbers snatched cash from him and as he resisted, they shot him and fled with the looted items. Separately, a motorcyclist was crushed to death by a speeding car in the limits of Wah Cantonment police station. Usman Fayyaz reported to police that his brother Mohsin Ayaz was going on his motorcycle when a car driver later identified as Mohammad Younas while taking a wrong U turn hit him killing him on the spot. Respective police have registered separate cases and launched further investigation. A murder convict was sentenced to death on Wednesday for killing his wife over domestic dispute in the limits of Attock police station on June 27 last year. The judge also imposed a fine worth Rs 300,000 on the convict as damages. According to the FIR registered under section 302 and 34 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) at Attock city Police station, the accused Shahzad Khan Shahzad Khan had contracted marriage with the woman some six years ago and relations between the couple was not well for the last few months so she returned to her parents house. Shahzad came to his in-laws house to take his wife back and on her refusal he took out the dagger and stabbed her to death and fled. The suspect was later arrested and police recovered the dagger utilized during the murder. Later during the trial, the prosecution produced substantial evidence against the accused which established involvement of Mr Shahzad in the murder of his wife and subsequently the court sentenced him to death.
