ASI booked for firing on three men

MUZAFFARRGARH: A police patrolling official was booked for allegedly firing on three men here on Thursday, injuring them critically at Chowk Sarwar Shaheed. The injured men, identified as Shaukat Ali, Raheem Khan and Abdullah were rushed to the hospital. Chowk Sarwar Shaheed police have launched investigation. According to the patrolling team, they attempted to stop the men, whom they found suspicious, but a confrontation ensued, resulting in the firing. DPO Syed Hasnain Haider has taken notice of the incident, instructing Chowk Sarwar Shaheed police to register a case against the responsible officials and ensure arrests. Sources said patrolling police official ASI Bilal allegedly opened fire on the car occupants, who were reportedly on their way to purchase milk for their hotel business. Shaukat Ali, one of the injured, said they were ambushed by the patrolling team. Police have filed a case against ASI Bilal under Section 324 of the PPC. SP Patrolling Tanveer Malik said an investigation is underway. Sources further alleged that certain patrolling officers have faced multiple complaints regarding illegal fines and corruption.
