GUJRAT: The unidentified body found at the river bank in district Mandi Bahauddin has been identified as that of a resident of Azad Kashmir who was kidnapped from Gujrat. Kabeer Hussain, a resident of Bhimber, was a security guard at a housing society of Daulat Nagar from where he was kidnapped on Aug 1. Daulat Nagar police had lodged a kidnap case on the report of his brother Muhammad Ameen. On Sept 27, the body of an unidentified man was found from the riverbank in the precincts of Saddar Mandi Bahauddin police. It was headless as the killers had chopped off the head of the victim; however, the body was later identified as that of Kabeer through the DNA. It was later handed over to the family of the victim after autopsy. Police said it had started the investigation into the case. The complainant had nominated four suspects, including a woman of Sara-i-Alamgir, in the case. Meanwhile, Saddar Jalalpur Jattan police found the body of an unidentified woman from a deserted area near Shahbazpur along river Chenab.
