LAHORE: Pakistan maintained their unbeaten run in the Blind Cricket World Cup as they crushed Bangladesh by eight wickets here at Bagh-e-Jinnah on Tuesday. It was the second consecutive victory for the defending champions, who bundled out Bangladesh for 145 after they elected to bat first. Mohammad Salman (run-a-ball 43) Tarif Rehan (30 off 32) were the top-scorers for the visitors. In reply, Pakistan overhauled the target in just 12.4 overs thanks to Mohammad Safdar (41) and Naimatullah (34) knocks. Badar Munir chipped in with a quickfire 28 off just nine balls. Meanwhile, at the Ghani Institute Cricket Ground, Nepal edged out South Africa by 11 runs in a nail-biting contest as Buhie Bhidia’s 100 off 71 balls went in vain. Batting first Nepal posted 198-4, thanks to Naresh Chaudhary’s 80 off 57 and Sagar Lama’s brisk 40 off 29. While Bhidia’s effort made it a close contest, South Africa fell agonisngly short. Elsewhere, Afghanistan earned a walk-over against India, who had preferred to skip the tournament after not getting their government’s permission to travel across the border.
